Girl + Ghost

So we are now 13 days away from the beginning of our shoot
week for Girl + Ghost.

This film has been a little baby of ours for a couple of years now and finally we are at the point of pointing our cameras at all the things that will be in the film. All of which have been built, modelled, stolen or created by myself, nik & michael.

Feels pretty good.

This film is really going to be an epic undertaking but we're all salivating at the thought of it finally being made.

I know we're all looking forward to the first (and longest) shoot we've ever done in a controlled environment.
No more battling sun movement, rain, wind, sleet and worst of all, time.

Stay tuned to the G+G blog for constant updates on what we're up to.

Cheers,
Sam

Tracking in the studio for short film "GEARS"

"GEARS" Dubstep Dance Sequence Tracking from Sam Dignand on Vimeo.

This is a first pass of a small section of the score i'm composing for a short film we're producing titled "gears".
It's a quirky film about a miniature hobo robot struggling to find a reason for his existence.
The robot is set upon by a group of droogs who battle for the affection of a girl who will be the tiny robot's salvation.

Haven't worked on a dubstep piece before so i'm just feeling my way as i go.
But i think it's starting to get the right feel...

A New Beat

This is a short we produced in march earlier this year for the TribeCa New York Pepsi Films Competition.
The brief was to create a 60 second short film that reflected the theme of the comp. "Refresh Your World".

We took out second place and a $2,500.00 cash prize with this entry.

It was shot in an afternoon and was worked on in post-production for around two weeks. Nik Wansbrough is responsible for the beautiful editing, direction, grade and effects work. Our kickass DoP, Michael O'Rourke for the shots and I created the musical score and some sound design.

A big thanks to actors, Christopher Patz, Margo Bulic, Krissan Pattugalan & Ben Cochrane...

Shout outs to both our brilliant make-up artist, Dave Reid, and our stylist, Adi Watters.

The Blog Begins...

So it's been months but i've finally got this blog up and running.
The aim of the blog is simply to put work out there.
New compositions, short films, commercial work, whatever.
Anyway,
Enjoy
